So many start out good in the faith
They get good with God before it's too late
But then one day they look to the side
They begin to love money and say bye bye
They no longer love God
They love money and hate God
Their only love is themself
They put God way up on a shelf
"I'll talk to you later," they say
"Maybe when I am old and gray."
They accumulate as much as they can
Most people they really can't stand
But they con and labor and deceive
Hoping more money they will receive
In the end they are hated by all
They thought it was all a super fun ball
But when you only love you
It makes everyone else blue
Eventually you might live alone, I'd say
Like Scrooge counting money all day
No one comes by just to say hey
And then you die all alone
😢
"Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we should be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." -1 Timothy 6:8-11
