Blind in Pride (a poem)

For those who are too proud to see God;

They never will.

Like with the Pharisees,

If we see ourselves as a god and think we are all knowing we won't submit to The One True God.

Either we see God as God

Or we see ourselves as god.

Either we submit to God's laws

Or we submit to our own flesh and desires.

We either love God or we love ourselves.

We either seek to please God or just to please ourselves.

We can die to the flesh or we can gratify the flesh.

We can try to control others or we can let God control us.

We can judge or we can love.

We can hold a grudge or we can forgive.

We can submit to God or we can resist God.

Every day we have all these choices to make.

Jesus said "You are either for me or against me."

Are you for God or just for

Yourself?

Do you think about yourself more or about God more?

Do you love yourself more than you love God?

Who do you seek the most to please, yourself or God?

God may we be a people that are humble and submit to you;

May we die to our flesh more and more everyday,

And focus on

You

Only on you

Always just on you

Amen.
