Joel Osteen Wisdom

For some reason, people either love or hate Joel Osteen. If you think about it though, Jesus had the same effect on people. Not to say that Joel Osteen is Jesus, but he certainly does a very good job of emulating Jesus to people.

Almost no other Christian pastor today shows love to others as clearly as Joel Osteen does. The Bible told us to love others as we love ourselves, and it is very evident that Joel Osteen does.

He is the pastor of the largest church in America, and here is some wisdom from Joel Osteen that might help you in your own life.

Steps

1. Try to not be a victim in life. Osteen says, "You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It wont happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me."
We have control over our own futures. We can dictate what will happen to us, to an extent. If we chose to not let something overwhelm us, it won't.
In another sermon he says that we always need to say to ourselvse "I can handle this," whatever it may be for you. If you think can handle somethign, you can. If you think you can't, then you probably can't. Like the famous quote, "He who says he can and he who says he can't are both right."

2. Learn how to understand other people. Osteen says, "Keep in mind, hurting people often hurt other people as a result of their own pain. If somebody is rude and inconsiderate to you, you can almost be certain that they have some unresolved issues inside."
This can help you to have compassion on those you may have otherwise gotten angry at. If you understand where they are coming from, which is something Osteen talks about all the time, you will be much more able to give them grace.
Rather than focus on what they did to you, ask yourself instead WHY they did that to you. This will help tremendously for you to have peace, and for you to be better at being a peace-maker. Amen.

3. Have hope for the future. Osteen says, "God knows your value; He sees your potential. You may not understand everything you are going through right now. But hold your head up high, knowing that God is in control and he has a great plan and purpose for your life." #*Often times, things happen to us that we don't understand. It could be easy to think that there is either something wrong with us, or that God does not really love us. But sometimes God causes, or lets, things to happen for reasons that we might not understand until twenty years from now.
We need to just trust that God really does have a great plan for our lives and that he will "work all things together for good" as the Bible says that He will. Amen.
4. Learn to be an overcomer in life. Osteen says, "No matter how many times you get knocked down, keep getting back up." Amen.
Life has a way of knocking everyone down from time to time. Most of the time, this is because Satan, our enemy, is opposing us and trying to take us out of the game of life. But don't let him.
Be an overcomer. Be strong and don't let the life get taken out of you. You can do it, with God's help. Just dust yourself off, shake off any criticism, and try again. Don't stay down when you get knocked down. Overcome.

5. Understand that you can bless or curse other people with your words. Osteen says, "It is important for a husband to understand that his words have tremendous power in his wife’s life. He needs to bless her with words."
This goes for any relationship in life. We need to know that our words have creative power. We can either speak life into people, or we can almost suck the life out of them with our words. We can speak well of them and so bless them, or we can gossip about them and put them down, and so curse them.
When God spoke, the world was created. Every human being alive is made in God's image, and so our words have power as well to create things. We can dictate our own futures, and the future of other to an extent, simply by the words we say. That is the truth.
