Steps
Don't dwell on hateful thoughts toward others. The Bible says we are to not let the sun go down on our anger because that can give Satan a foothold. When we stew on bitterness towards someone in our minds, that opens a door to Satan. Demons cannot oppress us without our consent. Dwelling on evil thoughts is a way of giving our consent.
Stay as sinless and blameless as possible. The Bible talks about wearing the breastplate of righteousness in our spiritual armor. When we sin, it gives Satan a one up on us, in a sense. He has more to accuse us about in our own minds, and our sin weakens us to resisting demonic influence over our minds and lives.
Listen to worship music. Evil attracts demons, and holy things like worship, repels demons. There was a case of a little blonde haired, blue eyed girl, whose eyes were temporarily darker. When someone is oppressed by a demon, their eyes really will get darker. Her babysitter simply played worship music every time she was around this child. After a few weeks, the child's eyes turned back to being light blue, and the girl's behavior improved. The demon had left. Worship music really works.
When thoughts of fear etc. bombard your mind, read the Bible or pray. The Bible talks about us having the sword of the spirit. That is our only offensive weapon to use against Satan. This can be use using the word against Satan or prayer. When Satan tried to tempt Jesus, Jesus quoted Scripture back at Satan. We need to have certain verses memorized so that we can counter-act Satan's lies with the truths in the Bible. The Bible talks about wearing the belt of truth. Amen.
Say the name of Jesus. Satan hates the name of Jesus. It makes him literally cringe. If you feel demonic oppression of some kind, like for example, a pressure on your body in the middle of the night, just say the name Jesus. Demons really do flee just at the name of Jesus.
Take up the shield of faith. Eph. 6 says, "Taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one." The fiery darts are primarily the lies that Satan tries to feed your mind with constantly. Lies that God doesn't love you or that you don't have what it takes etc. Lies to discourage you and paralyze you so that you won't do anything to share the gospel. But keep the faith. Always have faith. Always have hope. Then you won't believe Satan's lies anymore. You will KNOW that God loves you and that you can "do all things through Christ who strengthens" YOU. Amen! :)
