20 years I have wanted to see this movie. I just had Netflix for a long time though and it wasn't on there. It is free on YouTube now yay!
The ending is so sad. The woman dies right after they finally hook up. So many super romantic movies are like that. Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, Nights in Rodanthe, Marley and Me..... Well it's the dog that dies in that one. But it still made we weep like crazy.
Death is a hard thing to watch or think about. I was so mad in watching Message in a Bottle that they had the guy die at the end. This movie's sad ending made me mad too. Why....I guess some movies are like that maybe to prepare us for things like that happening. No one lives forever. Death is just a part of life.
There was a poem I memorized in college for my poetry class. It was titled Spring and Fall. A child is looking at the leaves falling off a tree and crying. A man tells her she is not crying over the tree dying but that she will die someday. We all will die. Everyone we know will die. That is just the way life goes.
It helps to accept the fact of death, to not be scared of it. Maturity is realizing that it is inevitable and knowing we will have to let everyone go eventually.
I think no one is really mature until they experience a tragic death. Then it's like you wake up. You see how delicate life is. You realize you may not have much time left. You start to think of all the things you wish to do before you die, and then you finally start to do those things. Like the song "Live Like You Were Dying." 😃
Do all the things you have always wanted to do. You never know if tomorrow is your last day to live. 😬😟
