Jesus Meets Us in the Fire

I loved the sermon at Baptist Temple yesterday!  The pastor was talking about how Jesus meets us in the fire.  It was on the story of Shad, Rack and Benny, as they are referred to in Veggie Tales lol.  He was saying, "What if God doesn't want to save us from the fire?  What if, when we pray to be healed or delivered from something, God says "No."?  What then?  Will we let him letting us suffer shipwreck our faith?  Will we stop believing that God is good just because we are having to suffer?" 
 
May we never stop believing that God is good and that He loves us!  May we also always believe that God is all powerful and all knowing.  He can do whatever He wants to; but sometimes he chooses to let us remain in our pain.  Why?  To teach us/ to mold us/ to shape us into who He knows we can become.  To help us become our potential and best selves.  We learn most in the trials of life don't we?  God/Jesus meets us in the fire.  "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for you are with me."  Jesus is with us in the valley of the shadow of death.  Often times that is when He is the closest to us.  "When Jesus is all you have, you realize He is all you need."  Yes?
 
So instead of praying that God would deliver you from whatever your fire is, ask Him what he wants to teach you in the fire.  Amen?  Amen. :)  Grace and peace to you! :)
