I never cared much about having a wedding. Maybe because I'm shy. I don't want everyone admiring me and staring at me. It seems overly egotistical also.
Maybe one reason brides are so done up in weddings is it's basically saying, "Enjoy the last time you get to look beautiful before kids come." 😂
I was thinking too, all the rejoicing in weddings is like all the people there are saying, "Good job woman for having the courage to get pregnant finally!" And to the men they could say, "Good job being willing to be selfless finally and provide for your wife and future child."
There is a dying to yourself in a wedding and in any relationship. The couple is celebrated for their courage. For their willingness to keep the human species alive at the expense of their peace and sleep. 😪
It is also a celebration that they found love. In our cold and hateful world it can be a long search to find love. Once you do find it, that is something worth celebrating.
