Love always speaks in a kind manner. Love is calm and gentle.
The more you love something, the more you value it. You take good care of it. If it is your pet, you feed it as much food as it needs. If it is your children, you watch over them well, and feed them as much food as they need.
The opposite of love is selfishness. When you want just what you want, and it doesn't matter what others want. That is not love. That is greed.
