"Without faith it is impossible to please God."
You either have faith or you don't. You either believe Jesus gave you a free gift of salvation or you don't.
Many people think they don't deserve the free gift of salvation. That blocks them from receiving it. In our world we have to earn any gift we get, but Jesus gives us salvation without us needing to earn it.
After we are saved though, we are expected to act like it. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
Maybe some are afraid to love Jesus. We are with God the way we are with people. If you easily love people, you will easily love and trust God. If you put walls up with people, you will with God too.
God wants you to truly believe that he loves you. You might think, "Then why have I suffered so much if God really loves me?" No one can fully answer that question. He wants to see us overcome and prove that we are strong no matter what happens. It takes courage to not be afraid of the future and to have the faith that God will protect you.
"According to your faith it will be done to you." If you believe God will protect you, he will. If you believe God will save you, he will. If you believe God can and wants to heal you, he will.
The most important part to faith is how we view God. Do you view God as kind or a tyrant? Do you believe God is loving or cruel?
God is love. What is love? Love is patient and kind. It does not envy or boast. It keeps no record of wrongs. If we confess our sins, God will forgive us. Admit that you were wrong, that you wish to change and God will forgive you.
Change can be hard but good. Let go of what you used to love and love God fully. Have no idols above God.
And always hold onto the faith that God is good and he loves you, no matter what happens to you.
