I have seen so much ingratitude lately, in myself and others, at work and at home, so I thought I would write on thankfulness. Ingratitude is the most unattractive character quality a person can have, and thankfulness is the most attractive character quality. When we aren't thankful for what we have it can go away very, very quickly.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." It might seem hard to give thanks in ALL circumstances, but the key is to see what God is trying to teach you in everything. In good times we don't learn very much, but in hard times we certainly do, about ourselves and others. In the good times we have peace but in the hard times we gain wisdom, which is obviously very important for life.
Psalm 107:1 "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" Amen! No matter what you are facing you have to remember that God is good. Even when things happen to us that seem bad we just have to change our perspective. Maybe what we think is bad could be good, just like what we think seems good could be bad. There is a verse that says, "There is a way that seems right to man but in the end it leads to death." Often times we Think we want something but it's not the best thing for us. God knows more then we do what we need and he will bring that about. We might not understand how things will fall into place but in the end "God works all things for the good of those who love him," so we just have to trust him. :)
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." When we are worried we can always pray. If you want something, ask God for it. Jesus said "You have not because you ask not." But you need to ask while giving thanks for what you already have. If you are not thankful for what you already have why would God give you more?
I pray that blessed you all and helped you grow in wisdom. God bless :)
