Colossians 3:17 "Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
There is a great phrase that sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. That phrase is all about denial. Do whatever you do in the name of the Lord, as in, make sure all that you do and say will glorify God. Just because someone says hurtful things to you that doesn't give you a right to hate them. For some reason every year with the holidays a million offenses will come. People will say things that will hurt you. Any time you open up and let people in and really talk to people, they might hurt you. Where do you go with that hurt? Do you put walls up? Do you let the anger stay insideo of you and fester? Do you try to take revenge? Or do you give it to God? Will you let go of your anger today? And lay it down at Jesus' feet? ;)
Psalm 19:14 ""Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord." If you let the sun go down on our anger, you Give Satan a foothold in your mind and heart. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. Did you let Satan win in your mind today? Repent.
Ephesians 4:29-32 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, (by hurting others) by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
Are you quick to forgive others? Or are you quick to judge them? "Judge not lest you be judged, for with the same measure you judge others you will be judged." We reap what we sow. If we are without mercy towards others, we will not be shown mercy when we need it.
Be careful of being to hard on others. We have all sinned and fall way short of the glory of God. Look in the mirror before pointing the finger at another person. When you point a finger at someone else there are 3 fingers pointing back at you for a reason. ;)
Colossians 3:8 "You must put these all far away from you: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and mean talk from your mouth."
Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."
Be very careful what you say to others. Think before you speak. If you don't, you will regret it. Pray, a lot, before you speak to anyone when you are angry. And be wise.
May God bless you all!
