Having a gift of prophecy means people will get mad at times at what you say, but it isn’t your fault. That’s the Holy Spirit convicting them in the truth of what you said. If the shoe fits, wear it, and then go buy different shoes. 😁👍🏼 As in, Change what you hate in yourself.
The truth almost always makes people angry because they love to hide in darkness. The truth often necessitates a change. We get angry in order to have the energy to make the change in ourselves that we need to. But so many quench the Holy Spirit and ignore the warnings from God that they need to change. People love to shoot the messenger instead of take what God is saying to them and make the change they need to. If a truth makes you angry, don't get angry at the person who said it, only get angry at yourself if you ignore it.
Here is a good verse about prophecy, "If an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!” If you are speaking truth that brings out the secrets of others' hearts, that is because you are using your gift of prophecy. Any Christian can have the gift of speaking prophecy. It isn't necessarily predicting the future. It is just speaking out the truth.
