In the 90's the coolest people doing Christian music were Michael W. Smith and DC Talk. After they faded out, Hillsong in Australia took over as being the most popular Christian music group. Then Hillsong United, led by the son of the main Hillsong pastor, carried the torch almost into modern day. Steven Furtick's church, Elevation, put out some great worship songs in the past 4 years. Recently Justin Bieber is taking the torch of coming out with great Christian music. I hope he keeps up the great work! Look up his song, "Where you go I follow." It is beautiful! "There's nobody like you Jesus..." Amen.
Bieber is scheduled to have concerts all over the U.S. next year. Every 2 days he will have a concert in some major city of America. I am hoping that he will do the same concert as his Freedom Experience concert. Look it up on YouTube. It was awesome! It took place in Inglewood in L.A. a few months ago. I was SO proud of him for doing that. I was elated that half his songs were Christian. He even had his pastor give a sermon at the end of the concert. So cool. :) Good job Justin! He really is the only incredibly famous music artist who has been so outspoken about his faith. I think that is because he was a big part of the Hillsong church in New York for a long time.
I know Katy Perry was raised Pentecostal. You can kind of see God in some of her songs, but for the most part she definitely is not godly anymore. May God help her get back on the right path.
There is a song that came out by Kesha recently called Praying. It sounds like she is praying for an ex. She was a major music artist about 15 years ago. I was happy she made a bold statement for God in that song and music video.
In Hollywood, I heard Denzel Washington say he meant to become a pastor. He realized he could preach through his movies instead. He has some inspiration talks on YouTube that are like sermons. Sadly, most actors in Hollywood are godless, conceited, and only lovers of money. They want people to worship them instead of God. May God help them. Maybe Justin Bieber can help shine some light in the dark top step of America.
If Bieber has a concert in your city, go check it out. And pray that the Holy Spirit will move in that place and that thousands will get saved, meaning that they will decide to start worshipping God and not themselves. :)
