Can You Blasphemy the Holy Spirit?

Jesus said the only unforgivable sin is to blasphemy the Holy Spirit. So it is important that we know what it is. 

 Often times in Charismatic churches they like to say that if you call Anything they do demonic that is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, as if they themselves are the Holy Spirit. Granted MAYBE they have some of the Holy Spirit in them, but They are not the Holy Spirit himself. A lot of them tend to think they are God, but they are not. 

God does want us to question what people do, in any church, and to "test the spirits." Just because something is supernatural does not mean it is from God. Just because someone gets healed, that does not mean it was God's power that healed them. Most of the healings that are done now are done with the power of witchcraft. The Bible says, "False christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." Why does God allow this? I don't know. But the Bible clearly says that it can happen. Don't assume that Satan never heals people. 

"Such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds."

Anyone can heal someone if they really want to. They can either do it with God's power, or if they are desperate to have that power, they can easily ask Satan, and people do all the time. Anyone can also speak in tongues if they really want to. They either do it through God, or if they are impatient and want to do it NOW, Satan can give them the gift too. 

"The Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons."

False teachers use the sales pitch in cults to deceive people and make them think they are on the right path, when the whole while they are headed to hell. They might think all the supernatural things they see and feel are from God, but they could be from Satan. 

"Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world....Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

God says, "The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is saying specifically that Jesus was possessed by a demon. It cannot be repeated today. There are no unforgivable sins today. So you can all take a deep breath and not worry so much." :)

But watch out for being deceived by the Charismania cults. Read the Bible more, and ask God for wisdom going forward. Then you should be ok.
