"I'm tired of religion. I'm tired of division." -Justin Bieber
Amen!
Growing up, my two families were divided because of religion. My dad's whole family is Catholic. My mom's whole family is Baptist Christian. At almost every family gathering, my dad would try to convince his brothers and his mom that they were wrong. Not cool. And then beyond that my mom and dad decided to join a cult called "The Local Church." I actually went on a date with a guy in my 20's who was in the same cult. There was no second date. :) What made them a cult was that they literally thought they were the Only saved Christians and any Christians at any other church weren't really saved. So crazy....
I had an epiphany about that related to Christians saying that Jesus is the only way to get into heaven. It is usually cults that say they are right and everyone else is wrong. So does that mean Christianity acts like a cult sometimes? Yes I would say it does. It is up to God who goes to heaven, not us. People in cults have a ton of arrogance. They think they are awesome and everyone else sucks. If your religion trains you to think that way, it is a cult. God wants us to love others, not look down on them.
As long as people are trying to love others and love God, leave them alone and let them do their religion their own way. There is no reason to micro manage others. Their life is in their hands. Their decisions are their decisions. Don't try to control others. They answer to God, not you.
God bless!
