(While I was writing this blog, my power kept going off and on. Partly because it's so windy, but I think the demons really didn't want this to get written. Read it all. And don't let Satan distract you from reading it.)
Do you have angels helping you out, or do you have demons trying to destroy your life? Seek help from angels, but be very careful of demonic things. Be careful of things like white magic. There is no such thing as "white" magic. It is all evil and all magic should be avoided. Sorcery of any kind is evil and scary and demonic. You might think it can give you power, but the Holy Spirit can and will give you good power. You don't need to seek Satan in order to get power. Ask God for His power and he will gladly help you to do whatever you need to do. "You have not because you ask not."
The Harry Potter books and movies have made people more interested in magic, but watch out for a fascination with sorcery. If you want to study the supernatural, just read the Bible, or watch some Sid Roth on YouTube with a discerning mind. You don't need to look at the dark side for revelation about angels and demons. The Bible has plenty to teach about the subject.
Angels are our helpers:
Psalm 91:11
"God will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
My grandma saw angels a few times. One time she was in a small plane that ran out of gas. The pilot didn't know where to land. She saw an angel part the clouds that showed an open field they could land in. Another time her van was rolling out of her driveway into traffic. She must have forgotten to put it in park. She saw a host of angels holding back the street traffic so she could go out and get her van. And people say angels don't exist. :) I don't care what you think, they do. Just because you can't see them, that doesn't mean they aren't there. I think we don't see them more often because it would freak us the heck out. Angels are very powerful beings. Anytime someone in the Bible saw an angel, they had to tell the people, "Fear not." They are very impressive and powerful beings. That is why God chooses to keep them invisible for us most of the time.
Hebrews 13:2
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
I have heard many stories, and you probably have to, of a person being helped by what they thought was a person, but it was an angel. You can look up videos of this on YouTube. People that can move at light speed or they glow a bright light under their clothes. There is an awesome video of angels pushing cars out of the way so they don't hit other cars. I know one time I was in an accident on the freeway. I was going super fast too. It is a miracle my car didn't spin out. My grandpa said an angel was probably holding my car straight so the accident was minor.
Hebrews 1:14
"Ministering spirits are sent out to serve those who are to inherit salvation."
This is a definite benefit of loving and serving God. He sends out a security team 24/7 to watch over you and protect you. I have never seen or heard anything demonic in my life. I know that is because God has a host of angels watching over me all the time. I'm sure that is partly because my grandparents have prayed for me a lot my whole life. God told me the other day, no one has ever prayed for someone as much as both my grandparents prayed for me. They were amazing people. I try my best to be like them. Sometimes I fall short, but I still try. :) I love you Grandma and Grandpa!
Psalm 34:7
"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."
Amen! Thank you Jesus for letting your angels camp around me and those I love. I believe it! Please God always protect those I love. We praise you for keeping us safe and always providing for our every need. We worship you and love you. You take such good care of us! Thank you God!
In contrast, demons only bring destruction. They might act like your best friend and tell you they can help you, but they are deceiving you.
There is a popular pop song called "Darkside" by Alan Walker. It is crazy because the lyrics are very demonic but the tune is happy and fun. It says, "We don't need the light. We'll live on the dark side." It reminds me of Rainbow Brite songs I listened to as a kid. Demons are not a thing to celebrate or be happy about. They are to be treated with respect and fear, but not so much fear that you are scared of them. God will protect you. But you should still know they are very powerful beings.
Matthew 12:43-45
“When an unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first."
Demonic possession is very serious. I am quite sure my ex husband was possessed. If you have lived with a possessed person, I know how you feel. It is highly frustrating, because you don't know how to help. If they don't want to help themselves, or they are too stupid to resist Satan, there isn't much you can do to help them. Don't let them pull you into the darkness with them. You have to separate yourself to protect yourself. God said, "Come out from them and be separate. What can light have in common with darkness?" Pray for them at a safe distance, but your safety is the number one important thing.
James 4:7
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
This is very key. You have to first submit to God. THEN you can resist the devil and he has to run super fast away from you. Why? Because you have the power of Jesus in you. No evil force can stand against the power of the name of Jesus. Amen?
Satan cannot have control over your mind or body unless you let him. He can only get inside of you if you want him to. Of course you might ask, "Who would want demons inside of them?" But they can be cunning and slick. Like a used car salesman, they make you think their friendship is something you should want. Maybe you are feeling lonely or rejected by others. They lead you to believe they can be a better friend to you then the people you know.
I used to say to my ex husband, "The issue is that you are better friends with the demons talking to you then me. You are more loyal to them, then to me! You believe what they are telling you more then me." And that hurt me a lot. It felt like a huge betrayal. I wanted to say, "After 7 years together, don't you know me?"
But Satan is called the accuser of the brethren. He will accuse you to yourself and tell you that you can't do anything great. And he will accuse you to others, so they will see you as a lot worse then you really are. Satan tries to divide and conquer. That is why he does that. He wants to break up families and any close relationship you have, so he pits people against you to tear you down. Then you feel all alone. That is when he creeps in to act like your best friend. Don't believe his lies. People love you more then you realize they do. Don't let him separate you from those closest to you. You need them. Don't let Satan convince you that you don't need the people in your life. There is strength in numbers. The more people you have helping you, the stronger you will be against Satan. He knows this. That is why he tries to destroy every close relationship you have.
1 Peter 5:8
"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
You think he is your friend? Not at all. He wants to devour you and your family and your friends. He will do it too if you let him. He will spare the sanity and peace of no one. You might think it's no big deal if Satan messes with you, but what happens to you WILL affect everyone around you. Keep Satan at arms length for the people you love, if not just for yourself. Protect those you love by staying as far away from Satan, and anything related to him, as you can.
Matthew 10:1
"Jesus called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction."
You have this authority too, if you have the Holy Spirit living in you. If you do try to cast a demon out it doesn't need to be some huge theatrical performance like in the movies. Simply say, "In the name of Jesus I command you to come out" of yourself or someone else. It really can and should be that easy. Have faith that it will be successful and it will be. And then live like you are free. "According to your faith it will be done to you."
Mark 9:29
Jesus said to them, “This kind of demon cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting."
Sometimes, very rarely, you will need to fast and pray to cast a demon out. Fasting shows that you have a very strong desire to be free, or to set someone else free. The more you love someone, the more willing you will be to fast and pray for them. It is that love that will set them free of their demons. Not so much the fasting, but the love you feel that enables you to set food aside for the sake of getting them free. That is what will finally help them get free. After they are free, continue to fast and pray for them. Don't assume it is once and done. You have to cover them with prayer 24/7 to keep them free.
Jude 1:6
"The angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day."
Demons are fallen angels, if you have always wondered where they came from. When Satan rebelled, he took one third of the angels in heaven with him. This is depicted in Revelation when it says that the dragon swept a third of the stars out of the sky. This verse says they are kept in chains in darkness. Some fallen angels are allowed to roam the world and possess people, but most are kept in hell to be judged at the end of time.
Matthew 12:22
"Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw."
If you want to try out the gift of healing, try casting out a demon first. Most physical issues are caused by demons, even headaches. It is called a spirit of illness and weakness. Simply say confidently, "Spirit of illness and weakness, come out of me (or....) in the name of Jesus. You are not allowed to stay. You must flee now. By the power and blood of Jesus I command you to go!" And you will then be free. :)
Ephesians 6:11-12
"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
Your fight is not against people. Don't make your whole life a fight against people. Satan is your only enemy. He tries to turn you against people because he is tricky and conniving like that. The more he can get you to fight people, the more weak you will become, due to estranging everyone you know. You can't fight this battle alone. You need fellowship and help from others.
May God protect you. Keep your shield of faith up always! Wear your belt of truth. Fight with the sword of the Holy Spirit. Stand firm. Be strong. You CAN keep any and all demons away from you. Just have faith that you can, and you can.
And God's angels are always there to help you stand strong.
