I think there are no actual atheists, there are just people who are mad at God. Every single person alive, it seems, is mad at God for something. I know I have had a hard time understanding why God lets me get the super bad headaches that I get sometimes.
Most of the bad things in our lives though, we brought on ourselves. Think back to all the times that your life sucked, did you cause that yourself? Maybe you lost a relationship because you were overly mean to someone. Maybe you weren't grateful for something so you ruined it yourself.
Everything we have, we have because we wanted it and we caused it to happen. Except headaches, those none of us want. :)
About things like headaches, life just sucks sometimes. God says, "Toughen up. You can get through this. There are worse things that could be happening to you. Maybe I just want you to rest for awhile. Take a load off. You don't need to push yourself so hard for so long."
The better you take care of yourself, the less you will be mad at God. Eat salads. Eat fruit, that is important. Drink lots of water. Tap water is ok. It is better then not drinking enough water. Sleep at least 9 hours a night and take naps if you need them. Watch a funny movie and laugh at least 3 times a week. :) Get a pet if you need good entertainment. Call a friend. Don't work so much. Try to work just part time if you can.
God wants to take good care of you, but maybe you won't let him. Maybe your pride keeps you from letting God take good care of you. You think you don't need him, so you try to take care of yourself. Are you tired yet? Are you ready to give up and let God take care of you?
God has done the best he could to make you happy, but maybe you are insatiable. Maybe you can't be satisfied. Lower your expectations of God and life and other people and yourself. Nothing in life will be perfect. Be thankful for what you have gotten, the amount of money you could get or the food you got or the house or the partner or the car you have. It is good enough.
Give up the search for perfection. There will never be a perfect day. Every day will have some boredom and frustration and loneliness. God can't rescue you from every negative feeling you could ever feel, but the sad feelings help you appreciate the happy feelings more.
Fix your own problems, rather then expecting God to come through for you all the time. When people have babies, doctors now are telling parents to make the baby self-sooth sometimes. Meaning the baby needs to learn how to make themselves happy. They need to learn that you aren't their slave. Meet their basic needs of enough milk and clean diapers and rock them to sleep, but if you feel like you are doing enough, they need to learn to not be so fussy. It is the same with us and God. God probably feels like he is doing as much as he can to keep us happy, and we need to learn to not be so fussy. He is doing the best he can.
And that's all I have to say about that. :) Forgive God. He really, really, really loves you and he is doing the best he can to keep you happy.
God bless!
