Trust

 There are not many people in the world that can be trusted, but people will rise to the level that you believe they can be. The majority of people are out for themselves. They want to take as much as they can from you without giving much back in return. They are only happy when things are going their way and they get everything they want. 

But people can change. If you believe they can be better, more selfless, then they can be. 

I have always said about kids that if you believe a kid is a demon, then they will be one. If you believe a kid is an angel, then they will be an angel. I have observed that in 15 years of working with kids. How the teacher would treat the kid would determine how the kid would act. 

The same is true for adults. What you expect someone to be, is often what they will be. Believe the best about others. If you want to bring out the best in them, then believe that they can be great. 

You can draw out other people's potential greatness by believing they can be great.
