It seems that all good things come to an end. You might think something will last forever. The only thing that will last forever is your friendship with God.
I was thinking the other day how 3 winters ago I had 3 kittens. They were the cutest kittens in the world. When I would go on walks with my 2 daughters, those 3 kittens would follow us all around the block. My oldest daughter would be on her scooter, the youngest was on a tricycle, I would be walking, and our 3 kittens would follow us as if they were cute obedient dogs. If they got distracted I could call them and they would come over to us. It was amazing. They were the most amazing kittens ever. Then my neighbor complained that they were climbing on her screen windows and I felt like I had to get rid of them. That was one of the saddest days of my life.
It seemed that every time I got a pet something happened. They got injured or they ran away or I couldn't keep them for some reason. Maybe God was trying to prepare me for not being able to keep my ex and my daughters. My ex said a few times that the way I got rid of pets so easily he was afraid I would easily get rid of him that way. I would say, "They are just animals. You are a human. It's different." But I think that pattern of saying goodbye did get me ready to say good bye to him, and my daughters.
No many things in life are things you can keep forever. Life is always changing. You have to be fluid and flexible. If you try to make something happen that isn't meant to be, there will be chaos.
God says, "Let it go Lisa. Things do change and sometimes the change is better. Good job keeping the peace and not getting what you want. I am proud of you. So many people fight to still see their kids and cause lots of drama. Change can be for the best."
