Are you hard? Meaning, is your heart hard? Or is it soft? Do you listen to the Holy Spirit or do you quench the Holy Spirit? So many people have such a hard heart. They won't let anyone else in. They won't let love in, because they have been hurt too much. They stay stoic, emotionless and like robots. They act like they don't care about others, but they know they do. They just pretend to not care but they think, at least they don't get hurt as much.
Then there are those of us who can't lie. If we love someone, we have to say it. If we care about someone, we express it and shout it from the rooftops, but then we get hurt. If we are rejected, we fall down and loose our voice for awhile, but then we get back up and sing again. "If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again." "Love comes to those who believe in it the most."
Is love worth it? Friendship love or romantic love. Is it worth the risk? Love causes the heart break of over and over again being real and vulnerable and honest just to get your heart stomped on when you are rejected. Is it worth it? What I have always said is that it truly is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all. I still think that is true. "I could have missed the pain, but I would have missed the dance." So go dance. There will be pain. But at least you can say that you danced. At least you will be able to say that you tried. :)
