Becoming a Rockstar

There is a very bright light in the heart of Williamson county, The Roots bar in downtown Georgetown.  It's my new favorite place!  I almost wish I lived there it's that cool. lol :)  If you are ever in the area, check it out.  They have live music a lot.  Monday nights they have line dancing. Woot woot!  Tuesday nights is karaoke.  I generally work Tuesday nights so I'll miss that.  Sadness....lol.  Wednesday nights is open mic.  You can put your name on a list and you get to sing 3 songs on stage.  My plan this week is to sing Level of Concern, Goodness of God and Can't Help Falling in Love and maybe I'll feel like a rockstar for 5 minutes. :) Thursday, Friday, Saturday night there is live music.  It is the coolest place to be any day, any time for sure!  If you don't know what to order, try the cider beer.  It's great!

I'm so glad my bf and I found this place. We were randomly walking around the square downtown and heard the live music playing and went in.  The music was superb!  It is fun to see so much awesome talent in one place.  Any of the live musicians will for sure inspire you.  After we were there for open mic night Wednesday, my bf and I decided to start doing street singing.  We have made $2 in tips so far. lol :) Whether we make money or not, it's tons of fun.  We sing a mix of songs sitting on a park bench by the coffee shop downtown, some secular and some Christian.  I was almost going to sing random karaoke from my phone on that bench by myself today but decided not to. lol.  But God is moving.  I feel he called me to Georgetown, back to Georgetown, to be a light there and hopefully God is really touching people.

It is funny the bread crumbs that seem to have been laid out.  I went to my mom's house a month ago to get two folding tables for a store I wanted to open up.  I was considering office space in my town, Jarrell, but the rent was very high.  I found a place for cheaper rent on Williams Drive.  I have a cute craft shop open now across from The Pit BBQ.  Check it out if you like.  My hours of being there are random though since I work at Papa John's too.  Then a lady came in my shop on July 4th and told me about her church, Faith Impact, a block away from my new shop.  It is a more spirit filled church, meaning you can feel the Holy Spirit a lot more there then other churches, and it's very exciting.  From there my bf and I discovered the bar downtown after their Wednesday church service.  And now we are doing street singing. All that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't wanted to open a shop.

I think I was getting really tired of "staying at home" as we have all been told to do for what seems like forever now. :(  But I have been staying home for the past 8 years.  I was a stay at home mom for 7 years.  Mostly I appreciated getting to relax at home, but it sure is nice to get out more around other people now.  My two daughters who are 4 and 6 now live with my ex husband and his parents in Odessa.  That is the best set up for now, but I do miss them.  Pray for them please.  I know they are being well taken care of but please pray they don't miss me to much.  My ex husband went legitimately crazy so that is why we are now divorced.

As more time passes it has gotten easier and I have essentially forgotten now that I am or was a mom.  I have finally forgotten about my ex and I don't miss him anymore.  Things happen in life that we can't do anything about, but God works all things together for our good.  If I still had my daughters I wouldn't have been able to open my shop or work at Papa John's, which I love, or become a street rockstar. lol.  At least I somewhat consider myself a street rockstar now.  But it is important to serve others in some way.  If you aren't a parent, find a way that God would have you serve and bless your community.  I used to make bracelets a lot and give them away for free.  Now I'm trying to sell my bracelets but am singing for free, except the $2 I made in tips the other day. :) But let God use you.

Whatever gift you were born with, use it to glorify God, and he will bless you.  Don't waste your gifts.  Don't waste your life.  Whatever God calls you to do, just do it. :) Don't be scared.  He will give you the courage to do it, and the provision and protection you need.  Step out on the water, because staying in the boat is boring.  Seize the day.  Capture every moment you can.  This life is short.  Jesus really might be coming back soon.  So do all you can for God every single day.  Don't waste one hour.  And keep that oil in your lamp, meaning stay filled always with the Holy Spirit. :) The more you serve God, the more filled with his Holy Spirit you will be.  May God bless you!
