Don't Be a Fool

Proverbs 18:2 "A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion."  Fools do not care to look at things logically.  They base their reasoning on feelings rather then logic.  What they feel must be true, because it's what they feel, but our feelings often lie to us.  It is much better to find out what the truth is on the correct way to live, rather then base all your decisions for life just on how you feel.

Proverbs 29:11 "A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back." This one goes for anyone who thinks getting angry a lot is ok.  It's not. It's foolish. Just because you feel something doesn't mean you have to express it. Go for a walk. Let off some steam before you express your anger to others.

Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction." To despise wisdom is a shaky place to be in. To always think you are right and everyone else is wrong is a swift road to an early death. Consider what others say. Don't assume you are the only one who is always right.

Proverbs 18:6  "A fool's lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating." This is why we are supposed to speak the truth in love.  Don't neglect speaking the truth, but speak it in love so that your words do not invite a beating. Don't be contentious. Be helpful and speak wisdom, but don't try to pick fights to much.

Proverbs 29:9 "If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet." This is why the Bible says we are not to cast our pearls before swine.  Fools despise wisdom and instruction.  Often time, the smarter or wiser you are, the more some will hate you, because your wisdom shines light on their lack of wisdom.  Miserable people love to be around miserable people, and foolish people love to be around other foolish people.

Proverbs 28:26 "Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered." Where do we find true wisdom? The Bible. Why would anyone trust only in their own mind? If what you are thinking doesn't line up with the Bible, make sure it does, so you will not be a fool.

Proverbs 18:7 "A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul." "Life and death are in the power of your tongue." We can make or break our futures by what we choose to speak about it. If you speak doom, you will see destruction. Speak life. Always.

Proverbs 14:7-9 "Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge."  It is ironic in life that those who think they are the smartest are actually the most foolish, and those who think they have little wisdom actually have tons of wisdom.  Why is this?  Because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."  :)

Proverbs 26:3-12 "A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself." Some children were not nearly spanked enough as children, and that is why they grow up to be a fool. If you love your kids, spank them and discipline them. Then they will never become a fool that despises all correction and instruction and will not listen to anyone. If you don't make your kids listen to you and obey you, then they will never listen to or care about anyone.

May God bless you all! I pray this blog made you wiser. :)
