Can Christians be possessed?

"I recall a Biola professor once said "possession" is a misleading term because it implies demons have the ability to dominate human will/body completely. Demons are powerful, yes, but the only one who's all-knowing is God. Therefore it seems unlikely that demons would have complete control over one's personhood. It's probably better to say "demonic influence" (e.g. oppression) than "possession."
Also, a believer's body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. If Adam and Eve had to leave the presence of God after they sinned, how could a true believer be "possessed" from the inside when he/she has the Holy Spirit?
You have no need to fear. Christ conquered death and His blood is enough. (That doesn't mean we should carelessly open doors for Satan, of course.)
