Love Is

What is love?  Really. 
 
Our culture has it's own view and opinion of love. 
 
They say it is a feeling that sweeps you away. 
 
But that is infatuation and lust, not love.
 
So what is love?
 
Love is sacrificial. 
 
"Greater love has no man than this, that he would lay his life down for his friend."
 
Love is being willing to die for someone else. 
 
Love is wanting what is best for someone else. 
 
Love is caring about someone else even more than you care about yourself.
 
Love wants to give, not take. 
 
Love is selfless.  Love is humble. 
 
Love is joyous. 
 
Love takes delight in others succeeding. 
 
Love shares. 
 
Love helps others to feel that they belong. 
 
Love accepts all and is kind to all. 
 
Love is everything that Jesus was when he walked this earth.
 
Love teaches.  Love helps. 
 
Love corrects when necessary.
 
Love is not afraid to speak the truth.
 
Love perseveres and never gives up.
 
Love is faithful.
 
Love gives freedom.  It does not seek to control another. 
 
Love is peaceful.  It does not get angry easily.
 
Love is kind. 
 
Love is generous.  It always wants to give to others.
 
Love is strong.  Love is not weak.
 
Love is patient.
 
Love is trustworthy.  Love does not lie to another. 
 
Love is honest.
 
Love is long suffering.  Love can endure anything and everything.
 
Love always forgives.
 
Love does not seek to be comfortable.  Love can sacrifice comfort for another's good.
 
Love is tender.  Love is not harsh. 
 
Love is not judging or accusing. 
 
Love is what is needed most in the world today.  And in the church today.
 
Love is God's message to the world.  That HE LOVES US!  That he gave up his life for us.  That he would do anything in the world for us!
 
 
God loves you! 
 
Do you know how much he loves you?!
 
God never leaves us nor forsakes us. 
 
God is always here, ready to help us.
 
God wants to hold us and comfort us.
 
God is long suffering with us, forgiving our sins daily.
 
God is patient with us.
 
God is holy and just.
 
God cares about us.
 
God will never fail us.
 
God is good.
 
God IS love.
