Poem About Worship

Worship

What is worship?  Why was it created?

It is interesting that Satan, before he fell, was the minister of music in heaven

David, the man after God's own heart, spent his life writing music

Perhaps God created worship because music speaks to the soul

It can move you to another world

It can cause you to perceive God like nothing else can

Music can transport you to heaven itself at times

Where you are singing right in front of God while he sits on his throne

Worship is powerful, music is powerful

The feeling of singing as a body of Christ in church is exhilarating

There is nothing else like it

When hundreds or thousands of Christian raise their voices together crying out to God

Honoring God, Praising God, Worshipping God

Making God smile to see his kids so in love with him in that moment

God loves it, delights in it, when we shout how much we love him

From the roof tops, abandoned and not ashamed

When we fully let go and express the fullness in our heart

Music displays every aspect of God’s character

Sometimes God speaks to us in a whisper

Sometimes he speaks to us in thunder and storms, in powerful ways

Sometimes we see God in a quiet stream tucked away in a mountain

And sometimes we see God in the power of a lightning storm

Sermons help us logically understand God,

But more than anything, God wants us to love him with our entire hearts

Some people miss God by 10 inches,

The distance from their head to their heart

Music draws the heart to fall deeply in love with God

To surrender all that we are to him

Holding nothing back, no reservations

Laying ourselves on the altar before him

And shouting “Take me Lord, I am yours.”
