Be an Encourager

Prov. 16:24 "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

We have all heard the rhyme "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." But we all know that words can hurt very much. They can hurt our minds, hearts, souls and eventually our bodies. Depending on what people say to us, our stress levels can be reduced or raised. When people are critical of us, it can lead to stress, which can lead to headaches and other physical effects etc.

This verse points out that "gracious words" bring "healing to the bones." Kind words have the opposite effect on our mental and physical health. Words that are positive and encouraging lift our spirits, make our walk feel a little light, and make us happier to be alive.

Don't be someone who speaks negative, discouraging words to others. Speak positive, encouraging words to others that are "sweet to the soul" and bring "healing to their bones." Amen. God bless!
