How Satan Tempts Women

The first major temptation for women is power. We may not think that we women are power hungry, but we are. Power was what Satan tempted Eve with in the Garden of Eden. He told her that if she ate the fruit, she would have all knowledge essentially, and she could become like God. This appealed to Eve because she wanted to rule. Maybe she resented that she was created to "just" be Adam's helper. So she wanted to be in charge and call the shots, as many women still do today in their marriages. :)

Women also like to have power over men in general. This is WHY many women like to wear skimpy clothing and tons of make up. They love that men are tempted by them and want them. They love the power that this gives them. They love that they can wrap any guy around their finger just by what they wear or say to them etc. THESE are the evil, conniving, power hungry women that Solomon was trying to warn his son about in the book of Proverbs. There are many, many women like this, so watch out guys.

Another HUGE way that Satan tempts women is in shopping. This is the number one most obvious temptation for women. Why is it obvious? Just look in most women's closets. They will be stuffed with clothes and shoes that they probably don't actually need. The lie that Satan constantly feeds women is, "This NEXT thing that you buy will make you happy. Maybe the last thing didn't, but this next thing WILL." And so women are the ultra consumers and are constantly looking for the next outfit or random thing that will make them happy.

Another way that Satan tempts women is with food. He feeds some women the lie that this next thing they eat will make them happy. Or eating a lot of something will make them happy. I don't understand this one as much because I haven't struggled with this much, but a lot of women do. I think it's that women who eat too much are hungry for love, but when they don't get love, they then turn to food. Perhaps the food fills a hole in them that is there because of a lack of love. Maybe their parents or husbands don't show them enough how much they love them etc.

Another huge temptation for women is approval from others. Almost every woman is an approval addict. They want nothing more than for their parents to approve of them, their husbands, their teachers etc. Girls and women are much more compliant than boys and men. They thrive very much on the approval of others. They crave for others to say good job or to just notice them. This is why women practically kill themselves working hard to take care of their families or their parents etc. But because women crave this approval so much, they can be easily manipulated by evil people into doing almost anything. This is a huge door where Satan can jump in and get women to do things that they wouldn't normally do. That is why we are called to not love anything in the world more than we love God, because if we do, we can be easily manipulated and fall into sin.

This need for approval and acceptance is what can cause women to get into affairs. It's not about the physical act for women; it's about someone accepting them. If they don't feel accepted or approved of by their husbands, they will search for another guy who seems to accept them. If they don't feel that their husbands notice them, they will go out and try to find a man, or several men, who do.

Another huge way that Satan tempts women is in beauty. This plays out in a woman's clothing, make up, how much she works out etc. This also all goes back to a woman's desire to have power and control. She thinks that if she looks a certain way, she can control a man, or many men, with her looks. Often times this works too, which doesn't help. So the lies from Satan perpetuate and only get worse.

Satan gets most women to constantly seek the perfect look that can give them the power that they want. And it's not just power over men, but also power over other women. There is a kind of pecking order among women based on how a woman looks. Just look at movies like "Mean Girls" to understand this. The more jewelry, clothes or perfect make up a woman has, the more she is on top so to speak. She feels more powerful and other women view her as more powerful. It is the same as a man having an extremely expensive car. Men are ranked by how much money they make, generally, and women are ranked by how beautiful they can make themselves look.

But of course, it's all just a mask. No matter how beautiful they are on the outside, they may have the most ugly heart in the world on the inside. In the same way, no matter how rich a man may be, he may have a very ugly and evil heart. But according to societal ranks, it is only the outside that seems to matter. Most people don't look at a person's heart, but they should, because it is only what a person's heart looks like that matters to God. Amen.

The last major temptation for women would be success. This is more for the A type driven women who were raised to succeed in everything they do. Women who were more loved as kids based on their performance are most tempted by this. They will then wear themselves to the bone trying to get straight A's, get as many degrees as they can, and make as much money as they can. Why? Because Satan feeds them the lie that they HAVE to be successful to be happy. But the funny thing is, they never are happy. No success, no perfect grade or perfect paper is ever good enough. They are always striving for more. No achievement is ever enough.

And so it is with any temptation from Satan. No outfit ever makes a woman feel beautiful enough, no make up, no shoes etc. No amount of approval from a man or a woman ever makes her feel good enough about herself. As Augustine said, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee." There is no amount of success or power that we can achieve in this lifetime in any area that will finally satisfy us. Like the song, we can't "get no satisfaction." It is not until we find our purpose in God and why He created us to fulfill the Great Commission that we can find meaning and purpose in this lifetime. NOTHING else will fill the void in our hearts. Nothing else will make us feel like we are something. So give up on all these other things. Don't love the world or anything in the world, because it will only leave you disappointed. The only being alive that can make us feel special and truly and completely loved is God. Remember that. Always remember that dear reader. And now may God bless you and give you wisdom in all things. Amen. God bless!
