On Lust and Rejection

I have recently started watching Joseph Prince on TV every morning.  He really is very, very good.  I got a lot out of hearing Joseph Prince this morning.  It's nice to hear a man's perspective on things.  He was talking about the story of Samson.  He was actually in Israel in the Valley of Zorah where Samson lived, which was cool.  I haven't seen much of Israel and the country side really is quite pretty.

He was talking about why some men struggle with lust a lot.  He said it generally comes from rejection from someone.  That makes sense, because if a man did not feel accepted by his parents or peers or siblings, then he will seek to feel accepted with a woman.  Often times this desperation causes men to pick the wrong woman, a very, very wrong woman.  :(

But women do the same thing too.  If little girls do not feel accepted by their parents or their peers in school etc. they will look for approval from a guy, and often times that ends up being bad guys.

So parents, make sure your children free accepted by you.  Yes you want them to excel, but don't push them so much that they feel rejected by you.  Don't be overly critical of them.  Encourage them with every chance you get!  Make sure that they know how much you love them and how much you approve of them.  Tell them they are special.  Make them feel treasured.  Then they won't seek to feel that approval from bad friends or bad relationships.  Amen.  May God bless all you other parents out there and give you wisdom in child rearing!  God bless :)
