They were so magnificent
That they had to say "be not afraid"
They brought glad tidings
About our savior's birth
Can you imagine being there?
Oh to be one of those shepherds
How lucky they were
The first to hear about Jesus' birth
Why were they the first to hear about it?
Because they were humble
They were in the right place at the right time
Quickly they must have ran
To see the newborn baby Jesus
The godman, the lamb of God, our savior
Could they tell he was special?
Did he look different than other babies?
They must have wanted to stay there forever
But back to their duties they went
And treasured in their mind forever
The night they saw the angels in the sky
