I remember Wednesday night dinners
The entire church eating together in the gym
That one night Josh told Chris I had a crush on him
I thought I might faint I was so embarrassed
The worship in the church was sublime
For the first time I felt God
I felt filled with God's spirit
It took my breath away
The field trips with our youth group
One night my best friend and I sang to the group
While using salt and pepper shakers as mics
I always wanted to be just like my youth pastor
She was the coolest person I had ever been around
Maybe someday I'll do her job
And bring other young people closer to God
