Hypocrisy/ Stumbling

"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today
Is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips
Then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle.
That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."

This quote means that many choose to not be saved because they see the hypocrisy in SO many Christians' lives.  This is unfortunate.  But something athiests do not consider is that the person they are looking at may not actually be saved.  So if you are Christian and reading this, check yourself.  Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are saved?  Are you bearing fruit?  How do you know that you love God for sure?

This life is NOT easy.  And living as a Christian is EVEN HARDER.

Yes we have more joy, love, peace and self-control as a Christian, but once you raise the bar in trying to walk well with God, you feel like you have to hit that all the time.

What if you can't sometimes?  What if you fall?  What if you stumble?  Does God still love you?

YES!  Nothing can separate us from the love of God first of all.  Satan will try to kill YOUR MIND with guilt, but DON'T LET HIM. 

God loves you NO MATTER what you do!

Romans 8 say, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor ANYTHING ELSE in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Also John 10 says, "My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; NO ONE can snatch them out of my Father’s hand."

Anyone who tells you that you can "loose" your salvation is WRONG.

The reason that this is wrong is because YOU DID NOTHING TO SAVE YOURSELF, THEREFORE YOU CANNOT "UNSAVE" YOURSELF.  Jesus saved you.  Period. 

And once you are a child of God you will ALWAYS be a child of God. 

The only question if you fall to be raised is, "Am I really saved?" 

But Christians still sin and stumble and fall ALL the time.  Just because you mess up DOES NOT mean you are not saved. 

I found this to be odd myself when I first got "saved," or when I let Jesus take the wheel of my life at 14.  I thought any temptation would just go away.  No it does not.  You have to ACTIVELY SAY NO TO IT EVERYDAY.  You can still choose to sin.  The trick to this is to stay in prayer and memorize AS MANY verses as you can!

"PRAY WITHOUT CEASING."  That is your BIGGEST tool against temptation and Satan. 

In regards to the Bible, many people don't like to sit and read for a time.  THAT IS TOTALLY OK!  Here is what I recommend.  Write out some verses and POST THEM ON YOUR BATHROOM MIRROR.  Then you will have to look at them every time you brush your teeth! :) 

It's genius!  That way you can always remind yourself of God's promises, because we all forget all the time don't we?  We do.  So we need to remind ourselves all the time how MUCH God loves us.

Work on memorizing theses verses that you post on your mirror.  Then anytime you feel Satan trying to talk to you, trying to make you think you are worthless etc, say a verse ALOUD, a promise from God's word.

Here are the best ones to memorize and write on your mirror, in my opinion. :) 

And remember, this is a war, between you and Satan.  And here is your AMMUNITION for him.  I'm serious.  He's shooting at you all the time whether you recognize it or not.  And you NEED to shoot back!

"There is therefore now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!"

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" (NO ONE!)

"Greater is HE that is IN YOU then he that is in the world."  (that is, Satan)

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive EVERY thought to make it obedient to Christ."

"For God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

" 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to PROSPER you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE.' "

"And we know that in ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (even things that royally suck, He is still working, ask Him how) :)

more from biblegateway.com :)  top verses in the Bible to memorize....lol, you have quite a bit of homework don't you. :)  But God loves a cheerful giver, that is of your time too, so memorize as much as you can and are willing to ok?  :)

Another great trick for memorizing verses that I have used on many occasions.  Write the verse out on a 3 by 5 card.  On the back of the card write just the first letter of each word and see if you can say it based off the letters.  If you can do that you almost have it memorized!  Congrats! lol :)  Good luck!  May God bless you abundantly for putting his word in your heart.  It's the BEST investment of you memory and mind that you could do!  :)
