Before I got pregnant I felt like God said to me, "He doesn't realize this will make him have to say goodbye to you." That was in reference to me getting pregnant and having Zach's baby. Why did God say that? Not that I would leave physically, but we barely see each other now.
Before I had our baby I would water the yard in the mornings, take a bath, and then come and cuddle with him. We pretty much never cuddle anymore. I always only cuddled with him in the mornings because he didn't snore then, for whatever reason. At night my man snores as loud as an airplane. :)
Now he has to work tons. He works 14 hour days 3 days a week, 7 hour days 3 days a week and only gets one day off. On that one day he is so tired all he wants to do is drink and sleep all day.
So children have a way of making couples say goodbye to each other, even though they are still technically together. This is why a lot of couples wait to have kids or never have kids. They know they will barely see each other afterwards. But that is life.
When I was younger I never wanted to have kids actually. One of my exes convinced me by saying, "Well who will take care of you when you are old?" I was like, "Ok, that is a good reason to have kids."
To all you fellow parents, I know how you feel if you miss your mate. Someday you will get to hang out with them again, when the kids are grown. Or when they are teens, and they want to have their own life apart from you. Hang in there and stay strong. :)
