Over the Limit

Why do men drink in excess? Ok, some women do too. Is it due to stress? Is it because they just want to have fun? Is it actually because they hate their life, and they want to die? Most people don't realize how possible it is to die from drinking too much. Some do it on purpose, others have no idea that death can happen. They are playing with fire. They like to walk on the edge of the cliff and hope they won't fall over the side. This has always been called living on the edge.

People do that with all kinds of things. When they don't value their life, they aren't careful. If you think you have nothing big to live for, why does being careful matter? God said, "Without a vision the people perish." If you don't have a plan or goal for your future, you won't care about living a reckless life.

It also can be just about having fun. For some people, it takes A Lot for them to consider it a fun day. Boredom is horrible to them. It has to be over the top to be fun. That is why some spend excessively with no limit for themselves. Some drink too much. Some eat too much. Others do drugs often.

Try to have a limit for yourself. The older you get, the more you realize the importance of having a limit on how much fun you can have, or how much fun you should have.

In my first marriage I had a problem with buying too many things online. If I wanted it, I got it. All the bills still got paid on time, usually. But I didn't really limit myself very much. Now I have a limit for my spending. All things in moderation, right? It is nice to reward yourself, but not too much. You have to have some fun, or else you will get depressed over not having any fun. But if you have too much fun, you also might feel depressed. You might feel guilty for having too much fun, for going over a limit you should have for yourself.

Find the middle ground. Have some fun but not too much fun. May God give you wisdom on what the middle ground would be for you. God bless. :)
