What God Says About Anorexia

What does God think about anorexia? It is horrible. He created food for you to enjoy, so why not enjoy it? If you don't have energy to live, how can you have a good life? You have to eat to live. You have to eat to have energy. Don't limit yourself too much on what you eat. If you become a little fat, it's not the end of the world. It's good for people to be slightly fat, not excessively, but slightly. That shows that you are Healthy, which is good. Regarding your weight, those who matter won't mind and those who mind don't matter. Love yourself. Feed yourself. God wants you to take good care of your body. But try to eat healthy.

Here are some great verses about anorexia:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."

God lives in you, if you have asked the Holy Spirit to come into your heart. Therefore, he cares very much that you keep your body healthy. If you are hungry, eat. You don't have to eat every time you are hungry. It can be good to deny yourself sometimes, but not all the time. All things in balance. If you struggle with eating too much, deny yourself sometimes. If you always deny yourself, set a timer to remind yourself to eat something. That really is a good idea. It will make the people around you in your life happier. Then they won't have to deal with you being grumpy when you are overly hungry. You can become Hangry easily when you starve yourself. Don't starve yourself. It's actually mean to the people around you. If you won't eat for yourself, then eat for the people you love. If you are happy, then they will be more happy.

1 Samuel 16:7

"The Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

God does not care what size you are. He loves us all the same. He does want us to try to be healthy, but if we get a bit overweight, he doesn't care as much as people do. People are fickle. They are hard to please. God cares more that your heart is healthy then that your body looks perfect. Having a perfect body is of the world. We are supposed to keep our mind on heavenly things, not on earthly things. Perfect bodies are a silly thing that the world runs after. People compete all the time with their bodies. Who looks better? Who looks worse then you? We are not meant to compete with others. Just be proud of yourself and how you look. Who cares if anyone else is proud of you or loves you. If they really love you, they won't care if you are slightly overweight, so please eat. :)

Song of Solomon 4:7

"You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you."

The man is saying this to his new bride. Of course she had flaws. We all have some flaws. But he chose to see her as flawless. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can choose to see someone as more beautiful then they are. If you really love someone, they are perfect to you, or you choose to see them as perfect. So many people think they have to look perfect to get someone to love them. Worry more about being a lovable person, then when someone loves you, they won't care what your weight is or what you look like, for the most part. :)

Psalm 107:17-18

"Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death."

This sounds like starvation can be a punishment from God for being sinful. God does not punish people this way anymore, but people can want to punish themselves. This happens all the time and is the main source of eating disorders. People can permit a spirit of starvation to enter them and take over their mind. That is why they get obsessed with being skinny and never eating, even if they are starving. It is a demon. If you think you have this spirit, simply say, "Spirit of starvation, be gone right now in the name of Jesus." And it has to leave. You don't need holy water or anything silly. Just say that and believe that it will leave. "According to your faith it will be done to you." :)

Ephesians 5:29

"No one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church."

If you hate yourself, I challenge you to ask yourself why? Were you sexually abused? Were you raped? Those are the main reasons why a person would hate themselves and feel like they don't deserve to eat. You need to forgive yourself. Let yourself off the hook. Whatever you did or whatever happened, let it go. It's in the past. You deserve to eat. You deserve to be happy. Let yourself be blessed for a change. Just enjoy life for once. You will be happier if you would eat more often.

Psalm 147:3

"God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Did a guy or girl break your heart? Is that why you are starving yourself? I had that thought a few times. "If I was skinnier so and so would have loved me more." But that is a lie from Satan. If they are meant to love you, it would have been easy for them. They shouldn't care what you look like. You don't need to look like a movie star for them to love you. THEY need to realize normal people don't look like movie stars. The problem is with them, not you.

Romans 12:2

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

The world says you have to look perfect, that your body has to be perfect. You know what God says about that? "That is rubbish. Eat what you want. Be free to enjoy food. Don't get overly fat, because that causes health issues, but it is ok to enjoy food. I created food for you to like and genuinely enjoy. I love you no matter what you look like. I don't care what other people think. Know that I will always love you no matter what. You are perfect and beautiful to me my bride."

Romans 10:13

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

If you want God to save you from your habit of starving yourself, Please cry out to him for help. Ask him to help heal the wounds in your heart that cause you to hate yourself and starve yourself. You deserve good food.  You deserve to be happy. Let yourself be happy.

Thank you for reading. Please text this to anyone you know who might need this. God bless. :)
