Entitlement Causes Anger

Proverbs 12:1

"An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones."

If you are married, try to be like a crown for your husband. Be a respectable woman who is humble and kind. Don't bring him shame by acting entitled to get anything you want. You might be relatively beautiful, but that doesn't mean you can have whatever you want. 

The attitude of entitlement causes anger in those who act that way, and in those around them. Of course the entitlement attitude is due to extreme pride. Those with this kind of pride think the world revolves around them. They have no problem with looking down on others. They think the world is meant to serve them. 

Those around them get tired of feeling like they need to bow down to the self-appointed king or queen. Prideful people get angry very easily. You feel like you have to cater to their every need or they won't like you. That is when you realize you have to walk away, for your own sanity. It is best to avoid people like that. Most likely nothing you do will keep them happy, so just give up trying. 

Their attitude is, "Where is my throne to sit on?" It is their way or the highway. Maybe they got prideful because of things they accomplished, money they have, or their somewhat good looks. No matter what the cause of their pride is, it is annoying to everyone around them. No one enjoys being around a prideful person. It is even more frustrating if you feel they really have nothing to be prideful about. 

This is the kind of attitude some wives have that brings their husband shame. He is probably embarrassed of how high maintenance she is. It is best to aspire to serve others rather than be served. The whole world does not owe you something. Just because you did x,y, z it doesn't matter. We are all equal. We all have some good and some bad. 

Don't let your pride turn you into an angry person with overly high expectations. Don't let prideful people make you angry. Just ignore them. It drives them nuts if you ignore them but oh well. Not everyone needs to act like their slave. Let yourself have peace and joy at a safe distance from them.
